Seven newborn puppies struggled four days without food or water outdoors in a cold Oregon winter. Because of kind people like you, these cuddly orphans got a Second Chance® at health and adoption.

The puppies were cold, outdoors and on their own in an Oregon winter. They were found huddled together under a porch, waiting for a mother who would not be returning — she had been killed. Two other puppies in the litter had died. The surviving five males and two females came to the shelter dehydrated, hungry and freezing.

After:
With help from our Second Chance® Fund, all seven puppies survived — and all seven were adopted! When they first arrived at the shelter, they were immediately wrapped in warm towels and bottle-fed every two hours around the clock. Upon being diagnosed with the contagious parvovirus — which 91 percent of puppies don’t survive — they were hospitalized and put on IVs. Thanks to our Second Chance Fund, they’re wagging their tails in their new homes now.
